Implement diligent hand hygiene practice to include washing where possible and sanitizing where not possible in the workplace.
Ensure proper hand-washing and enhanced sanitation/cleaning practices are both practiced and enforced in areas where multiple people handle tools, goods, supplies, equipment or other shared items.
Ensure a replenished supply of hand sanitizer is maintained at the workplace and in worksite kits and accessible to all staff.
Enforcing individual staff and customers to maintain physical distancing protocols to keep 2 metres away from each other to minimize any potential infection transfer.
Take every reasonable step to ensure minimum interaction of people within 2 metres of each other, including vehicles used for the course for work.
Safe Work Area Practice
Owners and managers of all workplaces must take every reasonable step to ensure minimal interaction of people within 2 metres of each other, and must comply with all advice to minimize risk as issued by the Chief Public Health Officer. For greater clarity, “workplaces” includes vehicles used in the course of work.
Ensure staff use their own individual tools where possible and where sharing is required, tools must be cleaned and sanitized at the start and end of each site activity and day.
Where possible and practicable, contractors coordinate and schedule individual work activities to minimize trade overlap to avoid group gathering in confined spaces.
Where practicable, clean and sanitize all frequently handled workplace surfaces at job site upon days end to minimize potential virus spread.
Where possible, make alternative arrangements to washroom facilities external to customer property.
Instruct staff not to share food, drink, tobacco or similar products in addition to plates or cutlery
“Workplace” means any building, structure, premises, water or land where work is carried on by one or more employees, and includes a project site and or any vehicle used or likely to be used by an employee.
It is NOT necessary to wear an N95 respirator or a surgical mask if you are well and not exhibiting any symptoms. Improperly worn, they may increase your risk of infections.
